How do i Start?

Hi
My name is Viv and i'm looking into becoming a childminder.
I have an Nvq 2 in early years care and edcuation and used to work in Nursery's but haven't worked in Child care for five years, but after having my frist little boy, i'm looking into to becoming a childminder and aleady have two friends who would use me for there childcare.
The only trouble is i'm not sure where to start? Who do i need to contact? and How much will it cost to start out? Can anyone help :confused:

Lots has changed recently , and there are large differences between areas in terms of training / grants / support etc so its hard to say exactly what process you will go through. But a great place to start is ringing your local family information service who can tell you how it works in your area. Step one is usually a pair of briefing sessions. hthx
