Hi

I posted a couple of weeks ago as one of my mindee's has very difficult behaviour. The advice I was given was fab but for my stress levels & the sanity of my own family I need to give up the boy.
My setting just isnt right for him & he's upsetting the other children.

I havent had to terminate a contract before & I'm not sure how to go about it. I understand about the 4 weeks notice etc but I just dont know how to word the notice.
I think his family are also in denial about his behaviour even though I have spoken to them about it so they might not take it well!

Should I say it's because of his behaviour or saying something else?
I obviously dont want to get into any trouble or have any backlash!

He goes to my daughters school so I may see them again in the future at school.

Thanks for any advice.

The rule of thumb is don't put anything in writing you don't want to come back and bite you on the behind.

I would just say:

Dear XXXX

It is with regret that I am terminating the contract for childcare we have. the last day of childminding will be ))))))).

You have raised the issue of behaviour with them, I presume you have it documented - you don't need to put much into the ending letter.

I agree with Pip - keep the notice letter short, sweet and to the point.
