Hi,

The North-West ARM is being held at The Village Hotel Herons Reach, Blackpool (Next door to Blackpool Zoo), on Saturday 21st May.

Below is the invite letter that has gone out to NCMA members, although we welcome ALL childminders.

There is a fee to attend (£23 NCMA members / £28 non NCMA) but it is heavily subsided and we've worked really hard to make sure Childminders really get their moneys worth on the day. And as its classed as a business expense it costs less in real terms.

Dear Colleague

Please find your booking form for the NCMA North West Annual Regional and Policy Forum Meeting here. The event is fully volunteer led, by registered childminders just like you and is your chance to put your point across, make suggestions or generally talk about things which concern you. Your chance to meet childminders from across our region, to chat, socialise and share ideas and experiences.

The Forum discussion topic is Groups and Associations and will no doubt be lively and give ample opportunity for us all to share our thoughts on the subject. Plus there is an Open Forum, giving you your chance to have a say on a variety of things which can or do, affect your work or your membership of NCMA.

In addition you will have the opportunity to participate in your choice of 2 workshops – Autism; Schemas; or Environmental Art – all delivered by experts in their field. Wendy Whittaker-Large, delivering the Schema’s workshop is Nursery World’s Trainer of the Year 2010 and the Autism workshop will be led by Blackpool Tiggers, who have hands on experience with Autistic children on a daily basis.

We will also vote in our new committee and NPF members for the future. If you are interested in joining the committee and helping to support North West members or would like more information regarding any of the roles please feel free to contact the North West Chair (contact details below).

We are bringing the event to Blackpool for 2011; to The Village Hotel Herons Reach (formerly a DeVere Hotel) and those attending will have full access to the leisure facilities. Why not make a weekend of it and take advantage of our discounted rates to stay over?

As well as all of the above, there will be a range of stalls from both well known and independent retailers, selling a wide range of early years resources. And don't forget to take part in our (almost) famous raffle! This year’s prizes include – A 12 month subscription to Nursery World magazine; One year’s RAC Breakdown Cover; An overnight stay at The Village Hotel Herons Reach; and a host of other goodies!

The reduced cost of attending this event is just £23 for NCMA members and includes two certified training sessions, lunch, all refreshments and use of the hotel facilities. Attending the forum section only will not incur a charge.

If you have not attended a regional event before we really do hope that you will come along this time. We are sure you will not be disappointed and we guarantee you a very warm welcome.

Please feel free to share the invitation with your colleagues; we would love to see you and them in Blackpool on 21st May.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Kind regards

North West Regional Committee
