Glad I took everyones advice now - she asked a lot of questions about it and was fine so I am happy I did it now

Just one question - she claims child tax credit so how does this work for the 2 days that the child is at nursery - she will be paying me so does she tell them he is with me or at nursery - she is a bit confused and I have no idea

So in other words does she have to pay those two days herself out of her own money or do they pay it ??

I imagine if the nursery place is free, if she is entitled to her tax credits then they will pay for the place at yours.

She just needs to let Tax credits know exactly what and when and they will work it out xxxx

She only has to inform tax credits about childcare she pays for (you) and they will pay whatever % she is entitled to.

I charge full price for lo while she is at nursery and tax credits pay mum to pay me :D

tax credits really only want to know who 'paid' childcarers are, and how much average weekly 'fee' is.

unless nursery charge parent a 'top up' she doesn't need to inform tax credits.
