My own daughters are 2.5y and 4.5y now and I seem to have forgotten so quickly what kept them amused when they were younger so would like to pick your brains for new ideas.

I have a just turned 1y old mindee, crawling at great speed, cruising confidently but not walking yet and seems to have a very short attention span (I know they do while small but she very rarely stops to play with a toy for more than a few seconds). Then tmrw I have a 9m old starting with me, he's crawling but don't know much else as have only met him once.

I will also have my own daughters or the 9m olds older sister who's nearly 3y to amuse as well (not all at the same time!). At the moment the 1y old loves going out places, sadly there's only a couple of rhymetime groups nearby (although even there she spends the whole time escaping me lol) but we go to the park and library too. Indoors though we always seem to stick to playing with the same baby toys, shape sorters, walker and happyland and I'm bored so figure she must be too lol Any ideas would be most welcome, thanks!

How about treasure baskets or some heuristic play? Some great ideas in this thread http://childmindinghelp.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=76340&highlight=heuristic+play
