what do i need to have in it?
does anyone have a list of contents that it needs to include? I am doing my first aid course at the minute and they have just said a standard hse 1-10 person one

The contents of a first aid kit should be checked frequently and replaced when necessary.
The list below is a list I keep in my first aid box, it is taken from www.lbcma.org.uk/newsArticles/firstaidKIT.asp
Note: Item number 15 plus is optional.
1. crepe bandage
2. large open weave bandage
3. small open weave bandage
4. eye pad with bandage
5. scissors
6. sterile gauze swabs
7. small sterile pads with bandage
8. triangular bandage
9. hypoallergenic tape
10. sterile non-adhesive pads, perforated film absorbent dressings (x2)
11. finger bandage and applicator
12. disposable gloves latex
13. safety pins (optional)
14. disposable laerdal face shield (for resuscitation if trained)
15. Ear thermometer - electrical thermometer 'hold to head' or Strip thermometer
16. First Aid book or similar instructions
17. Special cuddly toy
18. Disinfectant spray (for cleaning up, not for use on children)
19. Disinfectant wipes (for cleaning up, not for use on children)
20. Body fluid disposal kit inc : disposable gloves, apron and waste bags, absorbent crystals, plastic scrapper, paper towels

the place I am doing the training sells the kits, will print off your list and compare

i have got this one...in a soft case though. I ordered plasters that were reduced to £1.00 and paid but got an email from them that they dont have them in stock and if I wanted a packet for £6.00. I didnt get charged extra!

there doesnt seem to be much in that one at all....

I am a sucker for all things plasters etc. you would not believe what I have in my cupboards :blush:

I can see myself getting carried away. hehe
will go to the second part of the first aid course tmrw night and take my list and see what is in theres for £20 if not there is a ad for a first aid sales site on the forum

I have this one as well, its really good for the money !!
