Hi everyone! Right.....we have a sickness policy and send umpteen reminders home in our monthly newsletter and verbally. However, we are still getting patents sending their children in ill. We would turn away at the door if it was obvious but often they're 'calpoling them up' so we font realise until the calpol wears off by which point the infectious damage had been done. We've downloaded the HPA guidance to send home this week and wondered if anyone has a covering sickness letter that we could adapt? Can't really think what to put in letter other than what we already put in our policy/newsletters.
Fun!
Thanks xx

do you mean colds etc? If so I think if you find an answer then let us know as there is such a fine line between a sniffle and a child thats ill. if you sent every child with a runny nose home they'd never be with you.
i can't think of anything else that you can 'cover up' with calpol??

No, it's more than that - we've had very sore throats and ears, children with awful headaches who when we've sent them home mum/dad have said 'oh yes they were like that through the night' rashes which are under clothes and we don;t see them til nappy time and again parents say they saw them last night. We've also had a little boy with such a bad cold that his eyes started oozing mid morning and he made himself sick coughing. Not happy.....
