Just curious- if a contract is terminated without notice within the 4 week settling period, how do you handle the money side of things? I usually take a months fees as a deposit, held until the final month, and a months fees in advance. Do you return the deposit? And do you return any fees for case paid for but not used? Do you keep anything for the cost of paperwork used, things you might have bought for the child etc?

I would keep the deposit as this deposit would have held the space but would refund fees paid for time not used.

The settling in period is meant to be a get out clause for either party so don't think I'd charge anything for costs incurred.

I do the same as you. My deposit would be kept if the parents decided not to continue with care and I would returnit if I decided that I could not continue with the contract. i would also return any fees for any part of the four weeks that wasn't used.
