Hi, i'm planning on celebrating st daivids dayw ith my mindees as making dafodils and colouring the welsh dragon in.
they are only young - 2.5 / 2 and 4 ( till 12)

As i was brought up in wales, i'm going to love this topic, even write some welsh words with mindees, that would be great if they catch on. lol

anyone else doing anything? more ideas please. im excited.

just wish i could grasp planning, i love this job but annoying that i ahve write it all down, ideas tend to come to me quickly and we do them, dont really want to fart around writing it. or making anote of it either. when mindees go home i like to ahve cuddles with my own and read wit them before bed.

the rest of the week we are going to do
fairy cakes with rice paper daffodils on
paper daffodils with egg carton middles
hand print daffodils
finding the welsh lambs at the zoo (we always go to the zoo each week)

We do Welsh things every day (obviously) but I do try to do something a little special on St Davids day. We always have a big assembly where our 2 village schools join together for a good old Welsh sing song! The whole village turns out for this so it is a real sense of occasion.

What about learning a Welsh nursery rhyme or a simple song like Mr Hapus ydw i

Love going there! Used to live in Pentrebane so could walk there over the fields. But there used to be an admission fee when I was a kid, now of course it's free :clapping:

Same as everyone else I'm afraid, egg box daffs, colouring flags and dragons, story of Saint David, leek and potato soup.
Did find a thing about making a leek vase for your daffs, paint a toilet roll green and use white foam or card to make a base, a circle and a strip to make it like an upside down hat if that makes sense?
One of the mums at school is Welsh so am going to accost her in the morning to see if she will teach us some words or rhymes!

It should be a national holiday like St Patricks day is in Ireland - same goes for St Georges & St Andrews days!!!
