A very good childminding friend of mine has been offered a 'to good to turn down' job which means she will have to give up minding. :crying:

Does anyone have any ideas what we could give her as a present.

We're going to go out for a meal but I would like to give her something as a reminder of her years in childminding.

What about a nice piece of crystal, vase for flowers, rose bowl.

Something that she can look at and think of her times as a childminder

Sorry Fiona, that's a lovely idea, one which I would want but she doesn't go in for anything like that.

She's not one for ornaments, she doesn't like any clutter, that's why I'm finding it hard.

How about getting hold of some of her pix and having a display done with her as center stage?

On a similar idea. Do you know any of her old mindees contact details? You could get comments to go with the photos maybe do a photo book? I done one for my Nan and it was great she loved it and all the family wanted a copy. I done a family history type one weddings baby pics of her kids and grand and great grand kids. I even managed to get one of her Dad.

How about a 'Get out of jail free' card, just incase she fancies a bit more freedom after being tied down to a 'proper job'!!

Something that she doesn't have to worry about her mindees breaking!:D

you could of course get her something different like a spa/health day, help her chill out before starting new job.

Alternatively you could pay for her next year's registration fee with Ofsted - just in case she decides she want's to come back.

Don't think I would like to be stuck in an office looking out of the window on a beautiful sunny day when I could be having a picnic in the park playing football. One of the nice things about our job.

Not sure she would want it but years ago I was a childminder and my sister bought me a Barbie that was around at the time called something like Babysitter Barbie which was a doll with velcro stick on babies.:D

I like the sound of a chill out spa weekend - ooooh bliss.

You could laminate her polcies and procedures and give her a contract!: as a "keepsake";) ;) :D
