Here are a few ideas for celebrating trees and a nice end to Earth Day activities!
Arbor day official site - http://www.arborday.org/
PSED – talk about how we are reliant on trees to survive and how important they are in our world.
CLL – visit the library and look at a non-fiction book about trees. Marvel at the different shapes, sizes, colours etc in the world.
Short stories to print and share with the children -

PSR&N – find out about the sequoia, the tallest tree in the world. Can children imagine how high it is? Draw yourselves on a big piece of paper, then draw the sequoia next to you.
KUW – learn the name for the different parts of a tree – roots, trunk, branches, twigs, leaves, buds etc and discuss what each part does.
PD – trees can be fun! Visit the park and run round some big trees... play a racing game between trunks.
CD – make a tree with painted hand prints. If children do not like getting messy, they can draw round their hands and decorate instead.
