hi i look after a 3 year old 25 hours a week more during school holidays who receives disability living allowance at the high rate.

Mum and dad are constantly getting money for things to help her does anyone know if there is anything i would be entitled to here as her carer?

I know playschool gets extra money and it just seems to be me who is supply the day to day care and putting my hand in my pocket all the time :( i have even got to think about how im going to get them around from october when her mum has another baby as the 3 year old will be 4 but wont be able to walk even the short distances i shouldnt think

I'm sure there are grants you can get, inclusion grant being one of them. Ask your DO for any info on them.

Sorry not much help x

would the child be capable of using a buggy board. Mind you as he gets bigger this will become more difficult for you (weight wise). I would def. think you might get a bit of help with this or could you borrow some of the home resources whilst you are working?

Hmm I'd be interested in this!

Recently had to purchase a triple buggy so was £500 lighter! Thinking about it though my mindee is still under specialists regarding their development so even the parents are not receiving any extra help at the moment.

thank you i will look into the inclusion grant, parents are not at all helpful unfortunately and i have made them aware that if they want me to have the new baby they are going to need to help where the trasnporting of them is concerned. I only bought a tandem a year ago so that i could get her around eith my other mindee. Buggy board would be ok for short distances but she has very little understanding and comes up at about 12 months for this so its a hard one. To be honest the specialist were expecting her to catch up within the year with their help but we are still getting no where .....
