I have just watched this.

It's no wonder some people are upset - her nursery costs have increased by 25% in the last 3 years!

She should have used a childminder :D I haven't increased my fees for over 2 years! And it's going to be more difficult now, with this report :panic:

Just watched it, could be good for us:clapping: We certainly don't increase our fees like that, infact most of mine stay on the same fee they started on unless there is a change to their hours:eek:

Golly! Luckily, they weren't saying childminders are charging too much. 2001 I went from £2.20 p/h to £2.50. 2007 to £2.75 and 2010 to £3.00.

This April it's going up again to £3.15 as most other childminders in my area are charging £3.50 - £4.00 p/h.

I feel guilty for putting my prices up again but feel I need to be charging what everyone else is - not sure I'm going to catch up though. My fault for not making small increases every year!

The report I saw this morning on BBC breakfast said 'childcare costs' increasing, and mentioned childminders aswell as nurseries, etc. I think the nurseries are pushing up the average!!

childcare costs are increasing, for the childminder if not the parents :/
