Oh guys, Im sorry I feel like all I do is come on here and moan but I dont feel like things can get any worse now :( My car died on Friday and with a bill of around £400 and no money at all (and I really mean no money) things were looking bleak as it was, its my little ones birthday tomorrow and weve hardly bought her any pressies as just couldnt afford it, Ive had no enquiries and business is non-existent and now I get a phone call from my favourite after schoolies (and biggest earners) to say mum has been laid off and I can no longer have them.

I have actually been crying for about two hours now.....this is total rock bottom and there seems no light at the end of an ever increasing tunnel :( :( :crying:

OK - you've had a cry - now stop - you'll only give yourself a headache!

Time to put together an action plan!

Tomorrow:

1) Find out if your LA have a sustainability grant or any other schemes that will help whilst times are lean.

2) Find out if you are entittled to any benefite - income support for example.

3) Look at ways to increase your profile advertising etc for as low cost as possible.

4) Look at getting an evening / part time / weekend job to see you through.

...Sending hugs & Happy Birthday to your LO for tomorrow...How old? If it helps, my best birthdy ever was a day spent creating havac in the kitchen, then going out to feed the ducks - I don't remember what I got that year.;) :)

Oh & PS I don't have a car - so only use my own gumption & public transport - I try & look at it as a positive that it's a good example for the children, they LOVE public transport - it's like an adventure for them & I'd be really fat if I didn't walk everywhere! :D

Thank u - I know I need to get a grip!! First mindees Ive lost too so hopefully will get easier!!

I cant get sustainability cos only been reg'd four months, and cant get any other benefits due to DH's income :(

Am currently on the job centre website applying for lots of weekend jobs at the local shopping outlet so fingers crossed I can get a few hours down there to tide me over. I really struggle with advertising, nothing seems to work around here (not for me anyway!!) even though most other locals are full.

My little angel is 2 tomorrow :) Weve got a discount voucher for the local soft play and were making rice crispy cakes in the afternoon so Im hoping that she doesnt mind too much that she hasnt got piles and piles of pressies (although she has from everyone else!) xx

Have you thought about things like Sitters babysitting, it is usually during evenings but quick to register and may get your profile raised amongst parents with young children.

Oh hun that's awful for you. It might help to know that you're not alone. I've been registered since July and currently only have one mindee on my books for an hour a day, 4 days a week. I do however, have a part time job in my local bookies which helps a little towards making ends meet. Like others have said if your lo is only 2 tomorrow she'll not be really fussed about the amount of prezzis she gets - she'll probably be more interested in the wrapping ;) Hope you have a great day tomorrow and I'm sending any luck I'm due your way instead

oh no, sending lots of positive vibes. ((((((((hugs))))))))

Its horrid feeling (ive been there).

All the best advice has already been said. And I second every one of them.

I felt awful at xmas time, as my children didnt get much, but we spent most of the day jsut playing and having fun - my children are 7 and 8 so challenging a little when they want everything on the tv ads.

Ive also had no car this week, and its been hard ( i have a school 2 miles away, so walking was a must. Ended up being so much fun, and we searched for things - they loved the bridge we crossed "whos that trip trapping over my bridge" LOL . so then we did a small detor to the library and got the book. :)

we are all here to listen and help. moan away........ it helps.

think positive for the future.
Im sure your lovely 2 year old will enjoy a day of full on fun with mum.

wishing you a great day tomorrow. :)

oh bless you,, think positive,, things will turn around and hopefully you will be full soon,,, sending <<<<<hope and chill vibes!>>>>>>>>
at 2yrs old she will probably love what you have planned for her,,, she wont know any different and will I am sure she will love anything you have bought her,
as I always say,, worring will not solve the issues so whats the point in worring,, as the song says,,, 'dont worry, be happy', and enjoy your little ones day as much as i am sure she will.
have you rang the ncma and asked about schemes such as teenage mums and aiming high ( childcare for children with special needs),, these might help open up some buisness, as for advertising,, i have got work from advertising in the post office,, and from advertising on my car and off the childcare website and of netmums.co.uk.
worrying wont help so please stop worrying and enjoy the special time you have with just your little one before lots more children come along!

Hugs honey! Thinking of you in this tough time. The first few months are hard.

Mine just turned 2 last Mon. She loved her pressies and b'day but to be honest, she still didn't 'get' it all. She was unusually quiet and just stared and looked at it all, bewildered. She would have loved to have just made rice crispies and a trip to the soft play. Or just doing anything with us.

Good luck, something good will happen soon. Too many people sending you good vibes for it not to! x

I just wanted to say an extra special thank you to everyone who has commented today or even helped me in the past. The last few months have been very difficult and its been great to come on here and have people to talk to who can either share advice, give me a "hug" or who are in similar situations so a HUGE HUGE THANK YOU!!!!

My little one has only opened one present so far - which was a pack of Peppa Pig pants and she is so busy cuddling them she hasnt opened anything else!!!
