i have a gas card that i charge at the post office and i pay my electric at a set amount each week on a payment card, again at the post office, so i dont get paper bills, should i be saving all the receipts from the post office as my friend who works for an accountant says i dont need to keep these, is she right??

Do you get some kind of invoice or bill for the year that would prove what you have been charged rather than what you have actually paid each week/month. You need to know that total charge for the year to be able to work out the percentage you can claim depending on the hours you work.

Hope this makes sense.

I think what I mean is a statement not invoice/bill.

no i get no bill etc for the gas, i can only use what credit is put on the card and when that runs out i put more on, this time of year i charge around £30 per week. with the electric i get a bill each 1/4 but i pay £20 per week and they take that from the bill so when it arrives its already paid, sometimes i do need to pay a bit more. :D
