Hi

I have just had "the call" from Ofsted and was just trying to finish my SEF.
I have just come across the question about Individual Educational Plans for children with specific needs. My mindee has just started to see a speech therapist and has been given some work to do at home which mum has given me a copy of to use on the days she is with me.

I am not sure if I should have an IEP for this child or whether I should keep just put details of everything I do with her in her personal file.

Has anyone else done this?

Any help would be great, so I can finish this blooming SEF!!!

Many thanks

You wouldn't write an IEP - that is done be a lead professional who gets feedback from parents, school, HV, you, speech therapist etc.

However you might be asked to contribute to an IEP in the future.

To show evidence of supporting the child and working in partnership you could write an ILP... an individual learning plan for the child.

focus on what the child needs to learn and the extra work you are happy to do to support the learning...

Make sure it is all based around play.

Hth :D
