Its a difficult age isnt it...I have an 11yr old son and all he's interested in is playing on his xbox online with his mates....

and at this age they dont play with toys like I used to when I was younger.
Lego is always good, magnetix or whatever its called.

ask him what he wants to do and take your cue.
he might be interested in doing some cooking/baking with you
how about starting to think about planting/growing stuff

what about some science kits or simple experiments.

get him to help you do the settings scrapbook

To be honest I wouldn;t be too forceful in the entertainment stakes - if he wants to watch telly, read a book/comic, do some homework etc then let him

Hey I'm struggling with a 10 nearly 11 year old.....he only comes 1 day after school (2 full days holiday time) but since before Xmas on his day after school I mind an 9 month, 2.5 year old & a 4 year old, defo not interested in them and if I ask what he'd like to do he just shrugs and watches TV.

He's become very quiet here too whereas he was full of beans until (hormones kicked in..mums words)

I'll keep my eye on this thread for some ideas :)

as said before, computer, x box, wii etc! Also football and parks. could he get on with homework? Reading? cooking?
Ask him if he has any interests or hobbies.
