Nuts?

newly registered and new mindee is vegetarian. she doesnt have nut allergy and mum gives peanut butter. can i put nuts in her food. i know veggies are supposed to have nuts for nutrients but i thought they couldnt have nuts at her age (only 9 months) help!

The latest govt thinking is they are ok after 6 months old so long as there is no known risk of allergy -

However I have a child with a severe peanut allergy in the house so we don't allow any nuts here.

The child I care for who is veggie loves hummus which makes life easier :D

thanks mum seemed ok with me giving nuts but just wanted to check i couldnt get in trouble if something went wrong. obviously i wouldnt give whole nuts as main issue is the choking hazard
