on top of your hourly fee, would you add extra

i am currently pick up and take a mindee to school 2 mornings a week i dont drive so dh has to come to do the driving

pick up three afternoons and bring him to mine for tea then we take hin home at 5-30pm

2hrs mornings £10.00
9hrs evenings £45.00

its a 12miles round trip each time 60miles a week think you can claim 40pence a mile back on tax £24.00

so my question is would you charge extra for petrol?

Personally no - I'm not sure you can claim mileage and charge extra for petrol? And I would think that the tax would be more than a parent would be willing to pay so gives you the greater benefit

If you add petrol money it must be the exact amount you spend otherwise it can be considered that as you are charging a fare in which case it is hire and reward. Your car insurance is then invaild as you are acting like a taxi.
