I only look after one mindee on a Tuesday and sometimes meet a friend and her 2 yr old in coffee shop after dropping DS1 at school and DS2 at playgroup. While I was there this morning we bumped into another of my mindees and her mum

Mum is great and lovely and we all chatted and mindees clapped and shouted excited at seeing each other unexpectedly.

So.....why do I feel like I have been caught bunking off school

Because you know that thats all we do all day, sit around on our bums gossiping and drinking coffee whilst the children do what they please   .

Seriously though I wouldn't worry too much, it's KUW isn't it????

Can't see what the issue is here!

The way I look at it, is that parents have chosen a CM for their child cos they want the care to be similar to if mum was at home, so going for a coffee is what mum may do, so its fine. The children enjoy it and thats all that matters

lol...its a simple thing of feeling guilty when i see a poice officer  :D :littleangel:

cos us cms sometimes get a roasting from others for "not being a proper job" or do nothing all day, when we do actually do something its a instant guilt attack

bless ya heart

At least it was the coffee shop and not the Pub!

We do have a life. Don't feel guilty at all.:jump for joy:

Don't worry about - even the children like to go somewhere different once in a while. It's not like you met her at the gym with the mindee parked in the corner...now that would be embarrassing

I've just taken on a mindee and mum has offered me a portable highchair for when I go out for coffee:) Told me he loves Costas:laughing:

I often take my mindees out the cafe for snacks or lunch, it helps them socialise and understand other people. Great for getting ready for the shock of eating lunch at school with so many other people.

I bet if you made links to eyfs you will have covered every area of learning, don't feel guilty you take your children out and give them new experiences

We go in our local cafe at least once a week. The staff know my mindees by name and the children love it there. They have snack, I have a coffee, everyone's happy. That's why they're with cm's and not stuck in a nursery all day!

My mindees mum expects me to go to costa, shopping etc she says its exactly what she does and why shouldn't I!

She made me laugh the other day, she rang to tell me she had left my money in the baby bag and at the end of the conversation she said go and put your feet up and watch jeremy kyle  I laughed and said yeah like I have the time for that. She said he likes the clapping and shouting on there
