Hi,

I am hopeful to start up my childminding buisness very soon, I have one child at the moment but have not completed my family yet!
We are planning to have another child in the future but I am not sure where I stand on this?
Has anyone had experience of this? Do you still get maternity pay? How does this fit in with looking after children etc? I need to know everything!

Thanks

There are quite a few of us that are pregnant at the moment. If you make national insurance contrabutions you get SMP if not you get disability allowance during the pregnancy...then after you get job seekers allowance (I think...of the top of my head) (personally i'm working part time till the end (term-time only - I'm due end of August)& I'm takin 2 weeks off beggining Sept. I do know that you can claim benifits if you are working under 16 hours a week...it's all in your NCMA handbook if you become a member.
Hope this helps!
