Hi

We've got this one. It's not too big and the kids love it. Needs quite a bit of brute force to put together though but is excellent value for money.

That is the one I would like - can't justify the expense atm.

Sandy - don't get the ELC sizzling kitchen - it is fairly strong and the children like it but the doors drop down so then toddlers can't get close to it without standing or kneeling on the doors which breaks them.

I use an old pine shelf. It has 3 shelves at varying level to represent the hob, grill and oven. We have drawer knobs on it as the cooker knobs, the kids have created mats with painted rings that sit on top as burners. We use a large white shoe box as a fridge and other add ons. We have some hooks on it that the kids hang their utensils.
On other days, the kitchen stuff and mats come off, the telephone, pen box, and tools go on and it becomes a work bench in a workshop. There are holes in the top shelf for the nuts, bolts and screws to go in.
It is also used as a market stall/shop at other times.
When it is not actively in use it becomes a shelf unit :) . It works for us as we are short on space, it is multi functional and it allows the kids of all age groups to use their imagination rather than putting up with someone else idea of what a play kitchen should look like.

I was at my friends house earlier, she had this one and all the children loved it. It looked really good to me and I would have suggested it if Mandy hadn't got there first. My friend has a small house and the kitchen fitted in really well. Hx

I got this one last week when it was £17.50...wouldnt have paid the full price for it though...its not very stable and baby whos crawling and pulling himself up on everything keeps tipping it over...have had to restrict it to an area of the room that is cordoned off!!! Older ones love it though

I got mine from ebay, they are from germany, it was cheaper to buy this wooden kitchen from germany than england lol! its in separate units so you just buy the ones you need, sorry I can't do a link, but its very sturdy and no guady colours so it goes with any decor.

I got this one for my girls for christmas as I don't have much space so it can be folded into a case afterwards and stored. Its sturdy even though its plastic and the lights and sounds really attract the children

I have the elc one http://www.elc.co.uk/Sizzlin%27-Kitc...efault,pd.html (http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(122699)a(1904267)g(18115070)url(http://www.elc.co.uk/Sizzlin%27-Kitchen-with-Accessories/122019,default,pd.html))

Its lovely but after all the research I have been doing for my fd I really would prefer something wooden.

I LOVE your idea singing cactus! I would like to see some pics of it though :p Do you use this indoor or outdoors?
