More and more seem to be having tests.

There was a multiple choice questionnaire and then we had to go into another room, in pairs, and while the assessor watched we had to do scene/risk assessment, check the casualty etc. then put them in the recovery position. (We did that on each other), Then we had to do CPR and Choking on the mannekin dolls.

Can't remember will have a look at the book and let you know - yes I think SCENE did have a copyright so it is probably a main organisation which different trainers use for the booklets and course work etc.

Congratulations to you both, I have just passed my first aid over the last two saturdays, the person teaching us used SCENE as well, it is for the initial steps of approaching an incident,
Stop
Check for Danger
Exposure Protection
No obvious risk
Establish priorities
we weren't told until the end of the first session that we were having an exam at the end. It was 10 multi choice questions and you had to get 8 our of 10 correct, the instructor observed us doing recovery, cpr, bandaging etc and picked a few of us out to do some of it infront of the others.

I am glad it is all over for the next three years, I personally think, as things change regularly it would be better to do say a three hour course every 12 months instead of having to wait every three years and then do a 12 hour course, what do others think?

Congrats!

Ugh, mine is coming up for renewal in October. Boring! Athough my last instructor was a real hottie ex-army/fire rescue guy. I volunteered for him to demonstrate the Heimlich on me but he was very professional (unfortunately:( ).

I had a multiple choice test last year, but we all sat round in a circle filling ours in, looking at each others answers. The man in charge just said it was in his interests for us to pass:laughing:
