Safe steps in garden

I have a two tier garden with 3 concrete steps to access top level.

Can anyone suggest ways of making them safer ie something to soften them in case mindees slip? They are also pretty deep treads for them? Help????

I have a tiered garden too. Can't think of anything that would soften them! Only solution could be a gate to make sure that they don't use the steps unsupervised.
