My first- Aid is soon up for renewal and I have been quoted £99 this time with a company called first national who I used last time, but i feel that this is very expensive.
What have you all paid for your first-aid courses recently? is this the normal or is it expensive.

I only paid £15 for mine through the local authority childminder development office.

£99 seems pretty steep to me.

I agree

That is expensive.

I used St Johns last May and think I paid around £68-£70

I'm paying £60 next month for mine. But I can claim back 80 or 90% as Surrey have burseries available.

Mine is paid for, too by local CIS. Thanks for the reminder! Just got a list of dates through and I have to book as my cert is up in October.

Ours (myself and hubby/assistant) was paid for by the local Sure Start Centre, they opened the course for childminders to access too.

If you have to pay you might be able to get a refund on some or part of the cost, I would contact your local CIS for advice.

I'm doing my First Aid this Saturday and the following Saturday it's costing £5 through SureStart.

Actually over the next 3 months I'm doing: Food Hygiene, Risk Assesments, Birth to Three and finally Everyone Counts and they are all costing me £5 each :D

I don't recall ever having paid for any training. Sometimes asked for a cheque for £10 but this has been given back to me when I turn up (cos I always do). Other than paying to attend conferences all training is free via Notts EYDCP. I am beginning to realise how unfair it is out there.

I did mine last year, it was going to cost me 75.00 but because my registration just came through it didn't cost me anything

Just done my first aid, paid for by network, only had to pay once and that was six years ago because no courses available, I think it was about £50.
Why can't every area be treated the same?

Thanks for all the replies, I cant believe that some areas get it for free and others, like mine have to pay.
I have found one course run by sure start for £50 but that clashes with my EYFS training so it looks like i am going to have to fork out £99. So unfair.

mine cost £60 , i did it with abc learning and they were fantastic, but i got it paid back to me, its worth asking about funding. i think it should be free anyway.
