First aid courses

Here in scotland it's only recommended to do a first aid course and although I've been registered since last april there's only been one run here since then and it was full so I didn't get a place. However, tonight I had a horrid experience with my own little girl when she choked on a lolly, I felt completely helpless and although she is ok I feel I really need to do a first aid course asap. I'm not sure where to look though, the red cross have an evening one I can do which is bet than nothing but does say not suitable for child carers (but the one that is isn't run anywhere near me), st johns ambulance don't seem to do any up here either. Can anyone recommend where else to look?

thats awful really , id have thought first aid should be a priority , good luck getting a class
