Can anyone help, a bit of a long shot but I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and when I attend training courses on an evening I sometimes need to pay a babysitter, can put this down as expenses???

Don't know if it's allowed, but personally I would claim for any expense relating to attendance at training courses as its necessary: I claimed for taxi fares etc
Best to have paper 'proof' I would think.

I've claimed the expense, though my expense was quite documented.

Council refunded me the fees I paid another childminder to care for my child whilst I attended training, I had a cheque from them, so it went as part of my income.

Then I put a corresponding expense, effectively cancelling each other out, but still getting the benefit of 10% wear and tear on the 'income'.

If you can provide a receipt, (and mileage / taxi, training course fee), why not !!

Yes you can claim it and the petrol to drop off and collect if you do that
