Helloooo everyone.

Does anyone know if we still have to do an SEF if we mind over 8's only? And what the inspector looks for?

Thanks x

It depends if you are on the voluntary part of the childcare register of not. If you aren't you have no need to do anything since you are not required to be inspected by ofsted.

If you are on the voluntary part of the register I would assume (not always a good thing to do in the case of ofsted) that you need to do everything that you do as a registered minder for the under 8's.

As always - I am sure there will be someone along soon with more details :D

The SEF relates to the EYFS so if you do not care for children on the Early Years register then the SEF is not relevant to you.

However if you are registered on the Early Years register and simply do not have any children in that age group, it is good practice to keep your SEF updated.

At the end of the day it's about showing Ofsted that you are committed to continuous professional development.

You can show that however you want, it doesn't have to be via the SEF. :D
