I've done my SEF but not submitted it yet as I am unsure what to put for the gradings. As I am due my first inspection I have nothing to compare to, and so have no idea what catergory I should grade myself as. I would hope I am not unsatisfactory, and know I am certainly not outstanding, but whether I am satisfactory or good I really don't know.
I know the sef is not compulsory, but if I submit it without grading myself, do you think it will matter?

The advice that was given to me -

don't sell yourself short - if you do that then Ofsted might do that too
if you don't blow your own trumpet then no one else will
believe in what you do but also recognise that there may be areas you can do better in - doing better in certain areas does not mean you are failing.
even Outstandings have 'room for improvement' iyswim

We have been told to update as necessary (sp)ie when we have changed/ updated/ renewed, retrained etc etc but at least updated 12monthly . Not sure if that is right. Im sure Sarah will come on with the official version
