I am in the unusual position that I am a childminder without any children of my own - yet! I am getting so broody and finally feel ready to start my own family and always thought that doing it this way round would enable me to continue working and stay at home - always wanted to work in childcare but was never the right time to leave the security of my safe office job.
I started minding in January and have a full house! I am earning so much more than before and have a good relationship with the parents and children.
My partner and I have been talking about starting a family soon (he is so eager) but I have just found out 1 of my full timers mums is expecting and although plans to reduce her days want me to have the baby as well. This is great financially (when she returns from her mat leave) and the little boys is adorable and would not want to lose him but now I worry that due to numbers extra that my own family will get put on hold. I worry that there will never be a good time to have a family of my own.
Sorry for the essay - but I am a born worrier:panic: and I think I try and plan things way to much but just wanted some advice on what you would do in my situation as I have not got the first clue about maternity leave entittlement etc!
