Has anyone dyed their childrens food?

Last week 18 month came with homemade pizza but it was dyed bright red, even the child looked at me until i showed her it was food and then she ate it.

Then today she came with dyed red bread and they wanted me to put cheese spread on it, she ate it eventually.

When I asked dad why he said just something different.

Why would you, totally confused.

We asked dd why she wasnt eating her carrots, green beans and sweetcorn. Ans: cos theyre not pink!!!!!

So maybe dyeing it pink is the way to go:D

I dont get it even, asked mum at collection today and said its the father that does it.

Im suprised really as she always comes with really healthy home cooked foods, but some strange combinations, they cook whatever is in the cupboard.

Ive had walnut soup which looked disgusting but she ate it.
Kiwi mixed with a normal stew, again she ate it

eugh thats weird!

i have dyed mash potato green once for halloween and ive put savoury food into a yogurt pot to 'persuade' a child to eat it. (which worked by the way ;) )

but would never dye stuff bright red just to make it different.

EEEEW! The parents are definatley weird, maybe ask what they use to dye the food and if it has additives then maybe give info on how this impacts on making the child hyper and more importantly very bad for children etc. What will Ofsted think?

As for the rest of the food....yuck!

Good luck with this one

As I can not think of any possible reason that a parent may do this, my cynical side is thinking 'what is he trying to hide?'

Sorry perhaps I shouldn't have said that but...........why???

I used to dye my little one's food. I now put flavourings in to get her to eat her veg. She's 7 and always been a fussy eater. The other one isn't so fussed, she'll eat anything (even the things I'd much rather she didn't!)

Sounds bizarre to me!

Wonder if they dye their own food?
