Hi everyone
just received a text asking if mindee can be dropped off at 7am instead of 8 tomorrow morning:angry:

have said yes but told her of extra charge.
Parents amaze me that they think we are at their beck and call.

Yes it is annoying, but better that then no text - I have before now had a parent baging on the door at 6am (2 hours early) & waking the whole household as they had an early meeting & had forgotten to mention!

I'm sure she would rather have had the text than get up and wait for you to arrive! :)

I won't mind texts like that. I know as a previous working parent, your home life is often not as organised as your work life so things like that slip your mind. Think of the extra money albeit small.

I don't mind if parents text me. I would rather know that mindee is going to be early than get woken by the door going, or getting up early like June did this morning for a mindee to arrive at 7.30 to get a phone call at 8 to say he was with Nan and wouldn't be here till 10 - June only has him today

Would much rather know the night before

I have recently put something in my newsletter about this.

I told parents that they can text me, but I'm not guarenteed to see them after 9pm as I do sometimes go to bed that early! - and let them know that if they dont get a reply, then I havent seen it.

I dont mind, if I'm still awake though.

My parents always text me. One mum text me at 11.55pm last week to say LO is off in the morning. I was able to have a nice sleep in . I would rather them text than ringing the house or mobile.

I am happy for parents to text me I just feel that 10pm on a sunday was a little late asking for an earlier drop off for the next morning.

It is but maybe her boss had just texted her to ask her to go in earlier?

If she'd known all weekend that she needed to drop off earlier today and hadn't sorted until 10pm then I'd be peeved too - just depends on the circumstances
