If you have someone who wants a place but say for example it is not to start for another 3 months do you charge a non-returnable deposit?

Some of the childminders be me charge it then knock it off the first months fees.

Yes definately! Or you could turn down more work and they could let you down leaving you on your bum!

I charge the first month's payments and that's held, then used for their first month. I don't return it if they change their mind so they need to be sure. I've explained why I need to do this to my parents and they've all understood
