.....My Daughter is 16 months old and insists on climbing on everything, especially the coffee table. How can i stop her?

I have tried taking her off things, starting new games or activities and nothing is working! Anyone with ideas??

my daughter was exactly the same at the same age, we called her mountain goat ! sadly she got burnt from hot water cause she climbed into our fitted sink unit in the bathroom last year! all i did was pack ice cream into the chest freezer, we now have alarms on our doors and CCTV cameras in our games room so that if i have to leave her alone I can see what shes doing not much consolation I know but Im telling you as it can turn serious if your not careful!

good luck with everything and i would suggest you ditch the coffee table and anything she may be able to climb up onto. and maybe a time out on that thinking step !

There's not a lot you can do if she is determined to climb I'm afraid some children simply need to do it.

You can harness her energy with lots of visits to the park.

If she likes 'up' you could play with lots of other up games - water, throwing, balloons etc.

It's a phase and like all phases it will eventually turn into something else. :D

She doesn't really get time out yet, she just screams cause she wants to play. Its crazy.
