Cute site. I've only had a peek so far but will be going back to look later. I'm looking for resources about the cycle of a seed if anyone has seen anything like that. Diagrams, pis that sort of thing.

Thankyou for both of those they are great. The cycle of seed growing is good for showing the little ones what to expect of their sun flowers.

Somethng to do with kids about the seed cycle

· I am the seed. (Children curl up into a ball on the floor.)

· When I am planted in soil a root begins to grow. (Have children straighten out one leg.)

· My job as a root is to reach underground and suck up water and vitamins from the soil. (Children can make slurping noises.)

· Pretty soon hair roots begin to grow from my root. (Have children slowly uncurl their other leg.)

· A bud begins to push up through the ground. (Children lift up their heads and push upwards.)

· Soon, leaves form. (Children spread out their arms.)

We usually grow grass heads or carrot tops this time of year... it's a pretty quick process and children like instant results... :D

Thanks Kaz and Angel. The cycle of the seed is exactly what I was looking for and can't wait to find out what's in Angel's pdf files.

Yes, we're doing squash bottle terrariums and planting tomato, pumpkin and sunflower seeds in them. :clapping:

I think I'll enjoy it more than the kids cos I can't wait to get my hands in the soil every year.

Thanks for the link, I have got an allotment, and am taking on an extra plot for the children, I am moving part of the plot that is already in the back garden and I love the idea of making it into a sensory garden. Love the site and have added it to my favourites.:)
