I'm going to have her for 6 hours 4 days next week... she's quite quiet and it will just be her and my 10-month-old son, and 2 mornings I'll have another under 1 aswell.

Any ideas? I thought I'd do some peppermint creams, or some sort of baking, maybe do paper mache pumpkins... not sure what else really. she loves arts and crafts.

Also not sure where to go if we go out... ?

Does she like hama beads or card making?

Or give her a box of "junk" and let her see what she can make - mine love this. I just put in loads of different things - card, paper, ribbon, feathers, boxes, tubs, tubes, glitter and anything else I've got and let them create :)

She might also like to help you with the little ones.

sewing?

i got some felt pieces and my 8yr old DS & mindee ( boy ) designed creatures on paper, cut them out, sewed them together, stuffed and decorated them. took up a whole morning and then they played with them the rest of the day! making knex cars for them!

can you knit? my 8yr old DS has recently learnt to knit and loves it! i'm hoping to try my mindee with it in half term!

My older mindees have enjoyed embroidery. I get that stuff that reminds me of school, binca, and have lots of coloured silk thread. They are amazingly creative. Thanks for the reminder, I must make sure I've got lots of Halloween colours for next week.

I've found a really good website that supplies craft materials - hama beads, fimo to name just two, called Craft Merrily, there is a linked website that displays hama bead designs if you're stuck for ideas.

Another craft I found the older children enjoy ( boys and girls ) are the old fashioned pegdolls. I have some that come with a wooden base so the pegs stand up.
Felt tip pens for drawing on faces, PVA glue ( or double sided tape) to stick scraps of material on as dresses ( Princesses) , cloaks ( Superheroes).
Then they use them in whatever scenario they have decided to go with.

She may already be on moshimonsters too. If not she could get her own monster (it's free).
