I am trying to plan ahead for Road Safety Week at the end of November and would love some suggestions for actual craft activities. I have all the knowledge etc covered and am planning on using stop and go laminated posters for when they are riding bikes etc. I also have spotted the Beep Beep Biscuits but really would like a few craft things. I have got a good story book to read to the kids - anyone got any suggestions?

Making traffic lights - paper plates
That reminded me, we make traffic light biscuits - nice biscuits, slap on some icing, use smarties for the lights.

We did a fun outdoor activity by making large , coloured, laminated circles Red, Amber and green.
Kids running round and I held up Red circle, they STOP.
Hold up Amber and they all get excited.... wait..... Green held up and off they go again.
They can't run too far from you as they need to watch you and they get to learn what red amber and green mean and identify the colours.
Make a zebra crossing-paint black bits on lge roll of paper then do role play.

Last year we made our own zebra crossing on wallpaper and using paper plates and a broom handle made our lollipip man stop signs for role play.
Children took turns being the lollipop man and loved stopping to the command.
We also drew a road layout with whatever the children wanted to add: houses, school, shops and trees and plotted the best way to walk to different places and children also got cars to drive around and stop and our crossings.
Also made traffic light biscuits and used coloured smarties for the lights
