Hi,
Since iv been minding i havnt taken the children to visit anyone, we go to playgroups etc but i mean like family and freinds, i know lots of cm visit other cm but what about non cm freinds??

Its very rare my own children see their grandparents, cousins, aunties and my other freinds children now, so just wondered would it be wrong to go on the occasional visit?
Does anyone else visit non cm people while working?

Thanks Sam:)

I don't but only because I don't have anyone else to visit but one of my old childminders did, she always told me if they were going to go and I didn't mind.

I have done it on rare occasions, one was to take our dog to SIL before our holiday and had older holiday mindies, their mum thought it was a great idea and we had a picnic on Portsdown Hill overlooking the whole of Portsmouth which they thought was great. They then had a play in SIL's garden which has a pond in it and they had a great time doing something different

I take the children to visit my Grandparents. Their house is in the centre of town so useful for a pit-stop if we are doing something else in town. My Grandparents love it when we visit, my Gran has even bought Christmas presents for the mindees and always speaks to one mindee and her Mum if she sees them.
I did a risk assessment of the downstairs of her house and obviously don't leave mindess alone there.

When I had daytime children I often took them to visit other people. They love going out and socialising and its not like you are leaving them somewhere!!

All my mindees call my MIL grandma betty, they adore her and she them.

My mum & dad to see us quite alot and my oh's mum and dad mainly for the fact when i finish its 7 ............i always discourage them on busiera days though as im far too busy.

All the children now know both myn and my oh's parents and are comfortable with them in the house . I rarely go to other ppl's houses now i go to beccas occasionally and group but thats it . I dont tend to take them to " my family's homes " i prefer them to come here

I live in a village and although we go to stay and plays in town sometimes it is a bit of a trek. Its nice to go to my friend's houses - with children - for a change of scene and to give the children a chance to socialise. My friends understand I have to risk assess their homes and all the parents are OK with it - they all know my friends anyway. We're just one big happy family here:laughing:
