Hi,

I'm after some ideas of what to do with 2 10 month olds. they both have a nap around 10ish, and I do a nursery run at 12.

Ideally I'd go to a local playgroup, then leave at 11 and go for a walk and they could nap in the pushchair. But there don't seem to be any local ones.

Just looking for some ideas really. we tend to stay in most mornings but i feel bad cos i only have one of them in the mornings and i don't want his mum to think it's boring cos i don't take him out to groups...

As a parent I wouldn't think the child was bored just cos you are not going to groups. I attend one group a week so some of my part timers don't get to go with me. you can have just as much fun and provide a huge variety of activities in your own home and garden:thumbsup:

Don't worry about groups, at that age they are more focused on you rather than 'socialising' with other kids. As long as you have lots of activities and opportunities to see new things then I'm sure mum will be happy :)

It's more for the 2-4yr olds that need to get out to groups and learn how to get along. Even today, dull cool morning, I took my 2yr old mindee for a walk in a field with sheep.

He enjoyed it, got lots of exercise and is so tired he's having his nap now

thanks everyone. when you say 'activities', is just playing enough at this age?
i've done other stuff, like gloop and the other day we played with dry couscous for half an hour lol! but mostly we just play.

should i be writing in their dail diaries what they played with, or is just saying 'toys' enough?

thanks!

For my now 2yr old mindee I just describe everything that he does. I'm sure that will change once I have more than one mindee at a time!

For example, today J has played with the playdough and cut some out using the cutters, then he went to the small table and cut some paper with the safety scissors, he then went into the garden and chased the cat.

And on it goes, I also put in pogo photos of what he has done that day as I keep the printer on the table anyway.

Just do what you find the easiest :)

Look forward to the spring as both of them will be able to stay awake longer in the morning , you can then go to groups,or meet with friends at the park then home for lunch and with a bit of luck they may sleep all afternoon.
Instead of just saying toys, it would be lovely to show what you do with them and what they are enjoying doing when they are with you.
