My eldest turns 4 in august and goes to school in September. Will I have to write to Ofsted to get a new certificate showing my numbers and if so how far in advance should I write to them?

sorry not much help as im not sure but i think when he is at home like in holidays he still has to be counted as one of your under fives, someone else will be along though and will know more then me good luck though.

When your son goes to school full time he will be permantly counted in your 5-8years bracket even during the holidays.

I think you do have to tell Ofsted and ask them to reissue the cert to show different numbers!

I'd write in the summer and start advertising the space if you want to fill it... there's usually a rush of enquiries around then, so you might be lucky! :D

I am glad you asked this question, as Caitlin starts school in September too.

Thanks. I think I'll send the letter in May/June to make sure that they get it!

;) hello !

dd turns 4 in August too! I phone them up on Monday and have written to them also already (better to be safe with ofsted hey hehe), they said she will go up into the 5-8 ratio therefore come sept I'll be allowed 3 under 5's

Hope that helps
