One of my mindees is fire engine mad, so have been looking at bits to do with fire safety and how engines work etc.

Apparently next week is National Schools Fire Safety Week.

If you want them to send you a resource pack, click on the following link.

Hopefully the pack may come in time, fingers crossed :clapping:

Cheers for that.. have ordered my pack!
I am always checking my smoke alarms BUT today I carried out my first fire drill with the children... I spoke to them at length regarding the smoke alarm and its purpose, the dangers of fire and how to stay calm, gather together in the front room and leave the house nicely together... etc!
I left if for appox 30 mins and then sounded the smoke alarm.. I was as pleased as punch, all the children stopped what they were doing and met on the carpet in the lounge. I praised them so much for carrying out the drill exactly as I had requested earlier, I actually had a tear in my eye and was so proud of them all. Each was given a certificate and a hug!:clapping:
