Currently I do not charge for meals, but some nights I have to cook for 6 (inc my 2), which mounts up!

As hubby is hopefully going to be doing it with me (fingers crossed for lots of enquiries!!!), then possibly cooking for a lot more.

How many of you charge for meals? I don't mind providing a lunch, sandwiches etc, but for newcomers thinking of charging if they want me to provide the evening meal. How much is reasonable on top of normal fees?

I include snacks and lunches in my fees and try where possible to not have to cook a dinner as we like to sit down as a family for ours.

If I had to I would charge and extra £1

There are often 8 or more of us for tea... including mindees and my own children... I don't charge extra, as I know parents would say don't bother, I'll give it them at home.

Then it would get complicated as we'd be eating with children hanging about wanting my attention when I'm trying to have my dinner iykwim. :(

I include snacks and a cooked tea in their fees. I just make sure I charge high enough fees to cover it.

I cook for two sisters Monday to Thursday and charge £2 each per evening meal per day. The Mum is happy with this as she knows she couldn't get a nutritious meal at this cost anywhere else.

I charge seperately for all meals provided, breakfast 40p, lunch £1 and light meal 65p at teatime too.

If I didn't,. my hourly rate would go up and I doubt that would look too appealing!, This way it's upto parents, and was kinda hoping they might provide food instead of me cooking, but they said my home cooking was what really swung it lol!

I offer parents the choice of providing lunch or me providing it, i don't charge for a snack lunch but charge £1.60 if they want dinner. As you say, the costs mount if you're regularly supplying meals and I didn't want to up my fees.
Main thing is that however you do it you don't want to leave yourself out of pocket.

I currently charge £1.00 for an evening meal - but was thinking of putting it up to £1.25 and my lunch up to £1.00.

Don't charge for snacks/drinks and small occasional treats

I don't charge for breakfast, lunch or snacks and currently do make dinner for anyone. If I did, I would charge £2.00.

All meals are included in my hourly fee.

I sit down with the children during meal times and my daughter has her evening meal with the mindees before going to bed!

I don't charge for breakfast, lunch or snacks but I charge £1.75 for tea.

I don't really like providing tea because we have our tea when dh comes home from work at 6pm and I also believe that children should have at least one meal with their family at home.

I have done tea on the odd occasion when parents have been stuck though. :)
