I fancied it last year when we were re-doing the back garden but for the area I wanted done was going into the thousands so ended up putting down turf instead and bought the foam playmats to put down instead.

How much!

I have to say though it looks very good. We have bark and replace it every spring... suppose the cost adds up over the years. :D

it's a bit dear but then again i don't know how much 20x10 kilo bags would look like or how much area it would cover

It looks good, i had someone out to do a quote for paving all my garden as when it is wet the ground gets so soggy the kids can't play out there, i did think about woodchips round a play area but my garden isnt that big so it would look silly, then i thought well what if i do all my garden to make it like a playgroind and then in a year or two decide that i don't want to childmind anymore so i decided on paving it as if i ever give up minding i won't have to do anything with the garden iyswim.
Not that i have any intention of giving up minding,

says in the auction covers 5 meter squared. I'm thinking ill need more than one lot. it also says in the auction that it only needs to go to a depth of 4" rather than 12" of bark.

it is on the pricey side ill admit, but it wouldnt need replacing, we had bark on the front and it didnt smell too nice in the summer!!! at least this wouldn't smell and you could disenfect it if you saw cats hanging about as it wouldnt absorb cat wee.

im not sure how much bark is in comparison. I dont have THAT much money saved up lol

When I saw the price I thought you were buying the play equipment not the chippings LOL

It looks great but it's very expensive

im going to crazy pave the front part of the garden, then put a small fencing type of thing around it so the kids stay away from the mud! its like a bog out there at the mo!!

When Brian done our garden he laid a sheet to cover the area which stops weeks coming up - put loose soil and wood chip (see your local sawmill! ;) ) and then covered with another sheet and covered with woodchip. Nice soft bouncy area - et volia
