I have just spoken to DfES about getting a copy of 'English as an Additional Language - best practice' (Ref 00683-2007BKT-EN) and I asked about the EYFS update...

Would I like to call back in early summer!

Sarah i can beat that...i also rang this morning & was told that they would place me on backorder...there is a minimum 8 week wait (& so that will be June then) ...Oh & you can only order 1 copy per household...so if you already have the old copy...the system will not let you have a new copy:eek: ... gave them my mum's address:clapping:

Even funnier - we were all told on our DHC course last week that we need to get this book and study it and use it as we will be tested on both in our inspections!! Yes thank you very much our course lasts 10wks not 10mths! That just made me worry even more!

You know how we are going to be following the Early Years Foundation Stage (eyfs) from September this year?

You know how they sent out packs to every childminder?

Well... there were a few... shall we say... oopsies...

So they are re-printing.

First it was an availability date of January, then April... now early summer... and to make matters worse they are telling Blaze that as she already has one, she can't have a new one! And since a lot of us are in the position of already having one pack... presumably we won't get a replacement either.

All good fun! Hope it makes sense now! :D

Yes but you might not get one ... cos they are saying if you have one already then you can't have another... that's where the confusion is coming from :panic:

If you are coming to the Yorkshire and Humber ARM in Scunthorpe on May 17th you will get a copy of this (at least I think it is this) and the other one about boys (sorry can't rememebr the name of it) in your goodie bag. How do I know because I am stuffing 100 carrier bags and have just done these into it. lol
