From one of my neighbours. I don't know her very well as she keeps to herself mostly but she just popped over to ask if Bri could go and help her.
Anyway I invited her in and said, oh excuse the mess I haven't tidied up from the children yet.
She then said, oh you are a (said something in her language), I must of looked confused because she then said you are a second mummy to lots of children aren't you. I said, well yes i am a childminder and she said where she comes from someone who does that is called a 'second mum' and that they are considered to be very special people. she then said, i have watched you with the children and you are very good with them and they obviously love you, if i had young children I would want you to be their second mum.

that was really kind of her to say. i find not many people have something nice to say these days so comments like this are heartwarming!
by the way, where i come from a childminder is called a "day mummy" :)

If you have a compliment/complaint book you could always write what the neighbour said in it - others would see it and you can look back on it.

She has obviously been watching you with the kids and has seen your lovely way with them and how they respond back.
