I picked up my form from the docters and nearly died on the spot when she gave me the bill £112. Has anyone else had to pay as much as this. xxx

thats disgusting! i would ask them how they justify charging that much to fill out a form that prob takes them 5 minutes and see if they will lower the charge. i would complain to the practice manager.

mine only cost £10.

That is shocking! Poor you, you must have nearly fainted! I agree with sweets, I would ask what is the actual cost for them and how they justify the charge. Perhaps also inform them many surgeries only charge £10-20. Mine was £15, I was surprised it was so cheap having read some of the posts here.

Perhaps you could talk to the FIS people and ask if there is any chance to get some funding for it.

Good luck!

mine was £82.50 and i thought that was bad enough!! def see if you can get it reduced, i think they charge ridiculous amounts because they know you have to have it and its not as if you can shop around else where!! very crafty!!

That is really taking the :censored: !

Mine was £60 about 5 years ago. I complained at the time to the practise manager who told me that was the amount recommended by the BMC. I pointed out that £60 for a mere 5 minutes work was daylight robbery!!

If I was you I would talk to the practise manager and see if you can negoatiate a lower fee. Maybe telephone some other local surgeries for their fees beforehand to help you!

Best of luck!!

i was quite lucky , was told it cost around £20 and it wold be ready week later. picked it up and went to pay, but receptionist went to ask doctor something, i was worried. turned out that i didnt need to pay. woo hoo.

i'd enquire more, extortionate that is.
fingers crossed they reduce the fee.

Its daylight robbery  Mine cost £65.00, should have been £96.00 but receptionist misquoted me and I argued when they tried to charge me full price, I asked how they justify charging so much and was told very abruptly ` The doctor doesn`t have to do this for you you know!!!
