I am taking on a child with diagnosed mild autism. I have gone through all the usual paperwork with them, what documentation do I need with regard to the diagnosis or can they just put it on their 'all about me' form. They did offer to copy a letter from their doctor -but do I need that? Just want to make sure I have covered everything.

Thanks

Think you might have to do a care plan, hopefully someone else who knows for sure will come along to help soon :)

Do they receive outside help for him, for example a speech and language therapist or OT? If so you need these details as we are (I believe) expected to work alongside them for the good of the child.

I would accept the copy of the letter from the doctor, you never know if you may need it and it may be easier for mum now as she knows where it is.

That's all I can think of for now, just woke with a stinking headache...
