When filling out my risk assessment, outside my kitchen back door I have my black rubbish bin, garden waste bin and bin for recycled bottles (these are down the side of my garden). Do your outdoor bins have to be fenced off from children, or just mention on your RA the dangers if the child touches/germs etc? thanks! x

How do you stop the children getting into them? Mine are wheelie bins and so I just say that they are secure as they couldn't reach into them

My recycle boxes are not accessible as the children could break glass or cut their fingers on the tins

Can you block off the access whilst the children are in the garden?

I have a big shed to keep them all in now, when I had a small garden and needed them out of the way I bought one of these plastic shed store things to put dustbin and recycling boxes in - could padlock it
