For the first part of the financial year I was employed (before minding) so how will this work for the tax return?

Also I have registered as a business so will they send the tax return automatically and if so when? Or do I just log in and do it on line - if so how?

Thanks in advance of you all providing the font of your knowledge!

This was the same as me for my first year so I employed an only childminding accountant for my first year to save me the worry. He cost £60.00, but managed to save me another £60 on what I had worked out, so basically it didn't cost me any more.

From your National Insurance details etc they will have records to see that you were employed in the last tax year.

I also assume that when you registered with the tax office you supplied details of your last employment too.

If you are still unsure I would recommend ringing the tax helpline and ask their advice.

Once you have registered with them they will send you out the necessary forms within the next couple of weeks.

If you want to do your return on-line you have to register with with them. You will be sent a reference number and PIN.....once you have got them you can do your return on-line.
