One of my mums has just asked to drop mindee down to one day from four.
I have told her she has to give 4 weeks notice and to put it in writing.
Notice will start from 1st week in August but week 2 and 3 are my unpaid holidays....can not wait :)

how do I work that out ?

# do I lose out on 2 weeks pay.... so only have ## for week 1 and 4

or do I charge her for the 4 weeks notice

or do I said I have ## week 1, 4 and then 5 and 6 .


Has any one been in this situation before.....Please help

If you are using ncma contracts then technically a period of notice can't contain any holiday periods but personally I would charge four days for the two weeks that i was working and nil as usual for the time I was on holiday..... starting from the date that you get written notice.

She needs to pays you for four full weeks of four days from teh date of written notice - that is what you are entitled to.

Now whether she wants to spread that cost over your holiday period (keeps costs down for her and means you ahve a bit of extra spending money) and start the one day contract sooner or whether you push back the date of the start of the new contract and take your holidays unpaid is up for discussion.

I would offer her both options and see what she says.:)
